We offer Oral DNA testing that identifies and measures certain bacteria that can cause gingivitis and periodontitis. Our diagnostic tests help identify the cause of periodontal disease, the stage of progression, and determine if YOU are more susceptible.

CANCER DETECTION

Although traditionally associated with long-term use of tobacco, oral cancer is reported to be rising sharply in young people and non-smokers. The first sign is often a tiny, harmless-appearing white or red spot. Although oral lesions are extremely common and usually benign, only testing can help identify which oral lesions are abnormal.

When abnormal cells are identified by the ORAL CDX TEST, Dr. Bailey will refer you for further testing. You can rest assured that you have taken the first step to detect oral cancer early when the chances of a complete cure are highest.

Studies have shown that serious health problems are thought to be associated with periodontal disease. Information is available through the American Academy of Periodontology that explains how gum disease is linked to heart disease. One major theory is that oral bacteria are thought to attach and grow resulting in arterial thickening. These areas can form clots and restrict the flow of blood carrying oxygen and nutrients required for the heart to function properly.
