Brighten Your Smile with Teeth Whitening

Cosmetic Dentistry of Knoxville offers patients many at-home and in-office teeth whitening options. The take-home tray systems and bleaching products are stronger than many over-the-counter products. Powerful Zoom! in-office whitening can brighten discolored teeth by several shades.

Types of Teeth Whitening Treatments

Zoom! In-Office Whitening

Zoom! is one of the most popular whitening treatments available. This in-office procedure uses a powerful yet safe whitening gel and special light technology for accelerated results. Zoom! is also safe and effective for individuals with sensitive teeth.

Take-Home Whitening Strips

Do you prefer to complete your treatment in the comfort of your own home? We also offer Opalescence® whitening strips. Our dentists use a special solution that is more effective than that of store-bought whitening strips. Although Opalescence whitening strips take longer than Zoom! treatment, patients can achieve equally satisfying results.

Why Our Techniques Beat Store-Bought Whitening Products

At the store, you can find a variety of whitening toothpastes and strips that claim to whiten your teeth. However, whitening toothpastes and strips are not designed with the individual's smile in mind. When you visit a dentist for professional treatment, you can rest assured knowing that your treatment is specially designed by a medical professional. We will build a treatment plan that protects your enamel and safely delivers effective, even, and predictable results.

Cost of Teeth Whitening Affordable Prices & Flexible Financing

At Cosmetic Dentistry of Knoxville, the cost of teeth whitening ranges from $60 to $500. The cost of your treatment will depend on which type of whitening you choose and whether you choose to combine your care with other procedures. To make our treatments more affordable, we offer flexible financing and can review your options during your appointment.

In-Office Tooth Whitening Process

Day of Procedure

Preparing the Teeth

Prior to your teeth whitening procedure, your teeth are thoroughly cleaned. This ensures that all plaque, tartar, food particles, and debris do not interfere with results.

Applying the Whitening Gel

Next, the hydrogen peroxide gel is carefully applied to the teeth. We will carefully brush the solution on each tooth, making sure to cover all areas.

Letting the Whitening Treatment Work

In most cases, the hydrogen peroxide gel remains on the teeth for about 15 minutes and activated with light before it is rinsed off. Your doctor repeats this process two to three more times to achieve the desired shade.

Alternatives to Teeth Whitening

Whitening offers dramatic results for patients with surface stains or discoloration that results from eating dark-colored foods or using tobacco products. Intrinsic discoloration (deep stains due to trauma or genetic factors) does not typically respond to whitening. In these cases, your dentist may recommend alternative treatments.

Dental Bonding

Bonding is the application of tooth-colored composite resin material. This process conceals stains as well as other cosmetic flaws like chips and cracks. Best of all, this treatment offers dramatic results in just one office visit.

Porcelain Veneers

Veneers adhere to the front surfaces of the teeth to hide stains and other cosmetic imperfections. Due to the materials used, they are incredibly lifelike. Veneer treatment usually takes two appointments to complete.

Dental Crowns

If yellowed teeth are also weak or damaged, we may recommend dental crowns. These custom restorations are designed to fit over the entire tooth, concealing any cosmetic flaws and offering additional strength and stability.

Maintaining Your Results

To keep your smile looking bright and healthy after teeth whitening, brush and floss diligently every day. Avoid foods and beverages that can stain your teeth, such as coffee and rich sauces. Most importantly, visit our Knoxville, TN, practice regularly for routine cleanings and touch-ups.
